Yuxinou, the longest commercial train in the world

In November 2018, China launched a freight train, the “Yuxinou”, which traveled the longest distance in the world. Composed of 82 wagons, it takes as a starting point the city of Yiwu, one of the main industrial zones of China which is 300 km south of Shanghai, and as a point of arrival the Spanish capital Madrid.

This real journey corresponds to 13,000 km, crossed in 21 days with no less than three spacing changes. Time to go through six countries: Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Germany and France, all without counting ends of Chinese and Spanish territories.

The Trans -Siberian, star of railways in the last century

Presented for the first time in the world at the 1900 Universal Exhibition in Paris, the Trans -Siberian has long remained as the longest railway in the world. Built between 1891 and 1916, this iron line, which measures 9,285 kilometers, links Asia to Eastern Europe.

Initially designed to reduce journey times between Moscow and Vladivostok, located at the two ends of Russia, this railway line has turned into a real commercial route. About 20,000 containers arrive in Europe each year, 8,300 of which come from Japan. Today, around 30 % of Russian exports pass through this road, which makes Trans -Siberian one of the country's most important transport infrastructure.

Transmongol railway, a long trip to magnificent landscapes

The transmongol railway, as its name suggests, crosses Mongolia and its capital Ulan Bator. Measuring more than 7,600 kilometers, it connects China and Russia in six days, also passing through Kazakhstan.

Having become over time a tourist attraction, tens of thousands of passengers choose each year to discover essential Asian places such as the Gobi desert, or the Great Wall of China, while traveling in the wagons of this railway.
