A Slovak start-up launches its flying car model
Inspired by science fiction, especially in films like Blade Runner or return to the future II, the flying car continues to dream. A dream that could become reality, especially with technological prowess, which we know today. A challenge that Klein Vision, a Slovak start-up, launched.
A four -wheeled car that would turn into a plane in less than two minutes
Since its inaugural flight in 2021, the first prototype has achieved more than 170 hours of flight and more than 500 takeoffs and landings. The second prototype will be 200 kg lighter compared to the previous model and will have a 280 horsepower engine, which represents the double that the old prototype.

Klein Vision said that his vehicle will be able to switch from a four -wheeled car to a plane in less than two minutes. When the one would leave the “air” mode, for the “road” mode, the videos published on their social networks show how the wings retract. Regarding the characteristics, Aircar will have a saving of around 1000 km in the air and 800 km on the road, and will reach a top speed of 250 km/h in flight and 200 km/h on the ground, according to Popular Science.
A sale in 2026?
The first prototype is one of the only models of flying cars to have received a navigation certificate in 2022, but the second model of the Slovak start-up will have to wait to carry out 50 hours of testing, to be eligible for a navigability certificate. Klein Vision, hopes to have the green light from the European Union for Aviation Safety (AESA), to start marketing its vehicles in Europe, before targeting the Asian and American market, but not at any cost.
Indeed, the company said that their new vehicles will have an estimated price between 800,000 and 1 million dollars. A substantial sum, especially since the “plane mode” of the car is only available at an airport, since it needs a track to take off.
