On French roads, speed limitations are no longer the only benchmarks to monitor. Between danger zones and temporary checks, navigation applications had to review their copy to comply with increasingly strict regulations. At the heart of this adaptation, the reporting of radars on Waze stands out as a discreet but decisive tool, the effectiveness of which depends as much on the laws as on the drivers themselves.
This development aims to empower drivers rather than encouraging them to comply with limitations only punctually. According to Neozone, the application continues to alert users, but in a now regulated framework. Even the reports of mobile radars can be temporarily restricted during control operations organized by the police.
This legal limitation has strengthened the need for a fine and personalized configuration to receive the most relevant alerts possible on its journey.
The reporting of radars on Waze adapts to legal constraints
Activating this feature is not done automatically. According to Press-Citron, you must browse the application settings to access the section dedicated to alerts and reports. The user must then select the desired types of alerts, especially those concerning danger zones.
Waze also offers sound personalization. Just click on the speaker icon, located at the bottom right of the home screen, to choose between “only” or “its activated”. This configuration makes it possible to adapt the notifications to its driving habits, without weighing down the navigation experience.
The last update has also simplified this manipulation. From now on, a more intuitive menu makes it possible to point out a danger in a few seconds, thanks to a new visible icon and a light interface.
Waze's strength lies in the mobilization of its users
Waze's success is based on a simple idea: everyone can contribute to everyone's safety. By signaling an accident, a slowdown, a slippery road or a control, users become actors in the reliability of the system.
As it recalls it, an orange triangle allows you to open the report menu. In a few clicks, it is possible to send useful information to other drivers. This active participation makes the card dynamic and always up to date, with a level of precision difficult to match.
But this functionality requires responsible use. It should not be used to get around the rules or trivialize risk -taking. The objective remains to improve anticipation and vigilance, by avoiding distractions or sudden braking linked to a late alert.
