China Unveils Video of World’s Fastest Train, Reaching Speeds of 400 km/h!

China has unveiled the first images through a video, its new TGV which will be the fastest in the world with a speed of 400 km/h.

Called CR450, this new train unveiled by the Chinese company China State Railway Group, the latter will be able to circulate at 450 km/h maximum, and at a speed of 400 km/h for commercial operation (which transports passengers). An unprecedented speed that will make this fastest TGV in the world, exceeding the maximum 320 km/h of a commercial train.

A faster train lighter than the previous ones

From a characteristic point of view, this train will be produced with new materials such as carbon fiber composites or magnesium alloys. The interior will also be redesigned with aeronautical inspiration. Changes will also be made to reach this exceptional speed.

Indeed, according to Bfmtvthe nose of the motor will be once again lying, offering better aerodynamics. Engineers working on this new prototype also add that a permanent magnet system will be used to reduce air friction and go faster. The CR450 will also be lighter, with a reduced weight of 10% compared to the previous train.

80 km/h more than the TGV in France

With a speed of 400 km/h, this new train will circulate at 80 km/h more than the TGV in France, according to Futura. A gap that is necessarily felt on journey times. For example, with the CR400, it is possible to go to Marseille from Paris, in less than two hours, when with a TGV in France, the journey will be around three hours.

If for the time being, an release date has not been formalized, this new prototype, who came to replace the CR400, will come into production this year and will be functional as soon as possible, according to Beijing. The Maglev, a train developed by China and Japan with magnetic levitation, will be able to reach a maximum speed of 603 km/h. China announced last summer wanting to set up “Maglev” lines by 2035.
