China organizes the first kickboxing fights between robots
When you hear about a boxing between robots, you necessarily think of films in the Real Steel style with Hugh Jackman. But fiction has recently become reality with a kickboxing tournament between humanoid robots, organized in Hangzhou in China.
A competition between four robots
Organized by China Media Group, the largest public audiovisual conglomerate in the country, and broadcast live on CCTV and other official platforms, this competition saw four controlled G1 robots, competing in the 1VS1 ring, in fights with very specific rules, as for a classic fight.
According to Xatakaeach fight was divided into three rounds of two minutes each. Each participant is equipped with a protective helmet and gloves. The valid blows are those carried to the head or trunk, using feet or hands, since it is kickboxing. Presentation of combatants
In the combat videos published on the CCVT site, we see robots combining agility, strength, balance, or even chain of blows. An impressive result for these G1 robots, designed by the company Unitree Robotics, which have programmed at least eight basic combat models and various complex combinations, still according to the Hispanic media.
Measuring 135 cm for a weight of 35 kg, these robots have many sensors, which are useful for ensuring many functions such as movements, perception of space or even vision. They have a 9000 mAh battery, which guarantees autonomy around two hours, and have a movement speed of up to 2 m/s, or about 7 km/h. Regarding the winner, it was the robot controlled by the influencer Lu Xin who won the competition.
