Check Out This BYD Electric Supercar Jumping Over Obstacles at 120 km/h!

How can you impress with a supercar when you're not as prestigious a brand as Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin or Bugatti? By offering improbable performances, worthy of the series K2000.

YangWang U9. Marketed since February 2024 in China, this electric car with 1,287 hp and 1,680 Nm of torque delivers top-level performance: 0 to 100 km/h in 2.3 seconds and 391 km/h top speed. Until then, nothing exceptional considering the performance of other cars of this caliber.

Leaps of several meters

Except that the YangWang U9 can do something unprecedented for a production car. It can literally leap several meters to overcome obstacles, as evidenced by the latest video shared by the manufacturer.

The electric supercar features an active suspension system that can adjust the ride height by up to 75mm on each wheel. But, unlike other similar devices that are quite widespread, this one is so fast and powerful that it manages to make all four wheels of the vehicle take off several centimeters.

The YangWang U9 can ride on three wheels

Launched at 120 km/h, the YangWang U9 can perform a gliding jump over six meters. Enough to get over the huge 2.5m long pothole and the row and row of 4m sharp metal spikes. During several other demonstrations, we could see the electric sports car dancing and turning on itself or even rolling on three wheels.

Note that the jumping sessions are carried out in autonomous mode without passengers on board. It is first of all a technological demonstration intended to illustrate the road qualities of the YangWang U9. And no, there is no “jump” button on the dashboard to jump on demand and that is probably preferable. For the moment, this astonishing supercar is only sold in China for a price equivalent to just over 231,000 euros.
