Medicine, the army, content creation, business management, and now politics! The AI is setting up everywhere, even where we would not have imagined it. As in Albania where a brand new ministerial post centered on the fight against corruption has just been created and the latter will be occupied by Diella, an AI.
Well, you will tell us that in France, it happens about two to three times a year, but this time, this announcement is worth a look.
Indeed, as of September 11, 2025, Albania became the first country in the world to have a minister who does not exist physically since it is simply an AI.
His mission? “” “Create a country where public tenders are 100% corruption exempt“Explained Edi Rama. In other words, this AI will be responsible for awarding government contracts, a task that was once in the hands of real people who, it seems, have gave up with the bribes.
A meteoric ascent for AI which was until then only a virtual assistant who was only intended to guide citizens on a special platform allowing them to access government services. Something Diella has been doing since January 2025.
A way to seduce the EU?
Since 2009, Albania has been trying to join the European Union. And why is she not accessing it? Well because, largely, of the corruption that reigns in the country, at levels, as we can see, very high in the national and legal sphere.
It remains to be seen whether to appoint a minister to combat corruption will be able to attract the decision -makers of the European Union.
It will surely not be an easy task since, it should be remembered, an AI is not independent. It does not have a critical spirit and is simply the fruit of learning on the basis of human knowledge which is themselves the fruit of a learning which is, although it happens, biased.
The advantage that can however be seen there and that certainly saw Edi Rama when he named Diella in this position is that AI is not (yet) able to be truly corrupt. You can't “buy” an AI, like a mafia could buy a judge for example.
The effort and the unusual side will surely have been noticed in Europe and elsewhere, now, make way for the results.
