A Mysterious Blue Circle Emerges on Meta’s Apps: Is User Data at Risk?

Who are Chatgpt competitors? You can tell us Deepseek, Lechat or Claude, but have you thought of Meta? And yes, recently, applications, like WhatsApp for example, belonging to the Mark Zuckerberg firm have seen a new feature that was only available in the United States arrived in France and Europe.

And Meta had the good idea to offer a model of conversational language on its applications … of messaging. It is quite logical in the end. Thus, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger have now integrated Meta's functionality.

In terms of possibilities, we have everything we expect from a language model. Thus, Meta AI allows:

  • write documents of documents
  • to produce computer code
  • to create tailor -made texts
  • to do internet research

However, unlike the leader in place, the model present on WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger does not allow you to generate images, even simple. But that shouldn't be too long since if you ask him to create an image, he replies that “This feature will soon be available”.

A bit of a shame for Meta not having, for the moment, a model of image generation on a messaging application.

A functionality that worries

When we talk about AI, Meta and … personal data, it is necessarily worried. Especially since the flagship applications of Mark Zuckerberg have already been at the heart of scandals around the resale of the personal data of users.

And to make it short regarding the addition of Meta Ai on Whatsapp, Instagram and Messenger, users are worried that the artificial intelligence model does not use their personal data to cause said model.

To protect yourself from this, there are means, at least on Facebook (Messenger) and Instagram. However, this will mainly concern public data (posted photos, likes and comments).

On Instagram:

  • Go to the burger menu of your profile (top right of your screen)
  • Scrolle to the category “More info and assistance”
  • Click on “Privacy Center”
  • The link to oppose is in the second paragraph

On Facebook (Messenger):

  • Go to your profile and open the settings
  • Choose according to the versions: “Privacy parameters” or “Privacy policy”
  • The link to oppose is in the second paragraph

For the two procedures, you simply have to enter your email address connected to your accounts and META will send you an email to inform you that they have taken your opposition into account as to the use of your data.

However, do and do. Indeed, Meta indicated that on May 27, all users who have not opposed this use will be considered as having given their agreement.

Finally, if you were looking for a way to get rid of this functionality, know that it is simply impossible. In other words, whether or not you wanted him Meta AI arrived in Europe and intends to stay there.
