When we talk about prestigious automobile circuits like that of Nürburgring in Germany, we do not necessarily think of electric cars and even less of cars without a license.
Ligier takes up the challenge of the Nürburgring with its cars without a license
Nicknamed “Green Hell”, this circuit welcomed an electric car without a license for the first time. With its 73 turns, including its famous hairpin, and its length of 20,832 km, Nürburgring is renowned for its technical challenges.
The French manufacturer has sent three cars there, including two electricity. The JS50 Revo D+ Diesel stranded at 45 km/h, the electric JS50 restrained at 45 km/h and the electric JS50 restrained at 75 km/h.
“Beyond the figures, it is the capacities of endurance, handling and energy efficiency of Ligier engines, both thermal and electric, which have marked the spirits. This challenge has proven that a light, urban and responsible mobility can also be synonymous with passion and performance, ”says Ligier on his site.
The electric car takes the advantage on the track of the famous German circuit
Indeed, the Ligier JS50 without a license beat its 30 -second diesel counterpart on the circuit. This difference in performance is explained by the instant torque offered by the electric motor of the car.
The electric motor offers faster acceleration out of turn than the diesel engine, which is a decisive advantage on a circuit as technical as that of Nürburgring.
Here are the official chronometers of the three cars of the French manufacturer:
- Ligier JS50 Revo D+ (45 km/h): 28: 25.814
- Ligier JS50 Electric (45 km/h): 27: 55.580
- Ligier JS50 Electric (75 km/h): 19: 53.367
An exclusive version of the JS50 to mark the event
With an exceptional event, exceptional edition: the French manufacturer has unveiled for the occasion an exclusive edition of its small cars, the “Ligier Ultimate Racing Experience”.
The three cars thus displayed a sporting look with a tricolor decoration kit, an exclusive upholstery, an aluminum gear lever, high performance Nankang RC SEMICKS 165/50 R16 R16 and other elements inspired by automotive competition.
However, the manufacturer did not specify whether this “” Ligier Ultimate Racing Experience “will be available for the general public. In any case, it is recalled that the electric JS50 Ligier is sold at 15,699 euros.
