The future of transport will be green or will not be. Little by little, and around the world, initiatives are emerging to transform the way we move in the future. Recently, the American startup Regent succeeded in the first test of its aeroglener, the Regent Vicroy Seaglider.
What consider a future where maritime journeys can be made without flying or boat. Thus, in 2025, five years after the startup was born, Regent made its very first aerogleteur prototype operate, a device powered at 100% electric.
In a video posted on X and on YouTube, Regent therefore presents the first test on the water of sound Regent Vicroy Seaglider who then launches “the era of aerogleners”.
And according to the company, this test should delight investors beyond the world since according to Regent, orders for the aeroglener would have reached a sum of $ 9 billion.
A device revolutionizing maritime transport
Today to get from the ground to an island or from one coastal city to another, there are several solutions: the car, the plane, the sailing or motor boat. Problem, some of its solutions are sometimes polluting, even if in general the transport sector tends to become greener.
It is therefore to offer an alternative to these means of transport that Regent developed its aeroglener.
100% electric, the device can rally two 300 -kilometer away points and do so by advancing at almost 300 km/h. Being able to embark 12 passengers, two crew members and up to 1.6 tonnes of cargo, it is not necessarily positioned for a general public solution.
If on March 6, 2025, the device made its first steps in the water, it will be intended to fly over between 9 and 18 meters to enjoy the floor effect and therefore be able to move relatively quickly at very low altitude.
For the moment, the first flight of the Regent aeroglener has not yet been carried out, but the American startup estimates that this could well happen during 2025. A business to follow therefore.
